A knocked-out adult tooth
Hold it by the crown, not the root. If you can, put it back in the socket. If not, keep it in milk and come straight in.

Swelling
Phone the office. Swelling that is spreading, or that affects your breathing or swallowing, is a hospital emergency — go to an emergency department.

A broken tooth
Rinse with warm water and keep any pieces. Avoid chewing on that side until you are seen.
